Micki Bare was born with a passion for writing. She received her most cherished Christmas present at the age of seven: a thesaurus. After 16 years as an early childhood executive and six years in advertising as a writer, editor, and web content manager, Micki left the rat race in 2012 to take care of her family and spend more time with her keyboard. In March 2015, she took a part time position as assistant editor for "Piedmont Parent" magazine. By September 2015, she was named associate editor. In addition to writing children’s books, she is a newspaper columnist and blogger. She and her husband live in central North Carolina, where they raised three amazing sons. In addition to writing, Micki enjoys reading, walking, gardening, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. Micki was the recipient of three "The Courier-Tribune"Best Of Readers’ Choice Awards, including 2012 Favorite Local Writer, 2013 Favorite Local Columnist and 2013 Favorite Local Actress.
